Industry 4.0 is revolutionizing the way companies manufacture, improve, and distribute their products. Manufacturers are integrating new technologies, including Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and analytics as well as AI and machine learning into their production facilities and throughout their operations. Innovation brings new risks, particularly with regard to intellectual property (IP). For European SMEs operating in or exporting to China, it is crucial to understand IP risks and strategies.
In this presentation, the IP Business Advisor from the China IP SME Helpdesk Ms Lisa Lu will begin by why IP protection matters in China’s industry 4.0 landscape. The main part of the webinar will cover invention patent protection for manufacturing processes, industrial design for GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces), copyright protection for algorithms and how to protect trade secrets. During the webinar, an IP strategy for protecting software will be presented. Attendees will learn from several real case studies of European SMEs.
The webinar will include a Q&A session at the end of the event allowing attendees to pose questions to the speaker.
