EPO Engages in Strategic Dialogue with INPI Argentina Director General

On 16 May, European Patent Office (EPO) President António Campinos held an online meeting with Carlos Gallo, Director General Argentina's National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The meeting offered a valuable opportunity to assess the current status of the Reinforced Partnership agreement—the first of its kind signed in Latin America in 2019. The discussion also focused on the benefits of renewing the agreement and reviewed the progress achieved under the joint work plan adopted in November 2024, while outlining the next steps in their ongoing co-operation.

The EPO reiterated its appreciation for the strong collaboration with INPI Argentina, underlining their shared commitment to strengthening Argentina’s IP system in support of national innovation. INPI Argentina, in turn, highlighted the tangible benefits of the agreement, particularly the value derived from using EPO search and examination products. Both offices also discussed potential avenues to further deepen their bilateral cooperation, building on the solid foundation established through years of successful joint efforts.
